Reference Guide

This reference guide describes how the VixML format can be used to built interactive digital goods. Though the initial revision of VixML is targetted solely towards the development of goods for the iPhone, the format uses more general terms when possible ("click", "device" instead of "touch", "iPhone").

The sections below describe the individual elements of the VixML format. Each XML element is shown with its usage and the attributes the tag can take. Generally speaking, the bulk of the attributes are optional, with reasonable default values used if the attributes are not specified. A number of attributes, namely the object state attributes, are reused in many different types of elements. These attributes are described separately below in the section Object State Attributes.

The documentation for each tag describes how the tag's attributes are used. There is also some general information about the structure and interpretation of VixML attributes available in the section Interpreting Attribute Values.
