What is VixML?

VixML is a simple, XML-based tool that makes it easy for interactive designers like you to create world-class iPhone® content for the Viximo App Network—in a matter of hours and with minimal coding. Built natively for the iPhone, VixML allows you to take advantage of the device's best features, like high-performance graphics, multi-touch interactivity and a built-in accelerometer, so you can create the coolest content out there—effortlessly.

VixML makes it easy to:

• Render your still images and animations at 30 fps
• Scale, rotate, blend, colorize and position graphical elements in real-time
• Tie events to common iPhone inputs like tilting, shaking, tapping and even blowing on the mic
• Create and animate objects using powerful particle effects and ballistic physics behaviors
• Add a background soundtrack and rich sound effects

The VixML toolkit includes an editor and simulation engine for building and previewing your designs. VixML was built by Viximo and is patent-pending.

What is the Viximo App Network ?

The Viximo App Network is the complete set of iPhone applications released by Viximo to the iTunes App Store—all of which have been created using VixML by creators like you. All content and apps built using VixML will be sold, marketed and distributed as part of the Viximo App Network. All net* revenues generated from the sale of apps in the Viximo App Network will be shared equally between Viximo and the VixML Creator. (*Apple, Inc. keeps 30% of the revenues generated by all apps in the iTunes app store. Viximo and VixML Creators will share the remaining 70% of revenues equally.)

There is no cost to use VixML. Please keep in mind, however, that all submitted content will be reviewed by Viximo before submission to the iTunes App Store. Once submitted, each app is also subject to review by Apple, Inc.

VixML Creators whose apps are accepted into the Viximo App Network will enjoy numerous benefits, including:

How does all of this work?

Here are the high-level steps:

1. Visit our Getting Started page and download the VixML SDK
2. Use the VixML Reference Guide and cookbook to create your own content using the vxEngine running on a Mac
3. Once your content is polished on your Mac, submit the content to Viximo. If it meets our quality criteria, we will provision the ability to preview your content on your iPhone
4. Make final edits of your content, previewing it on your iPhone and submit to Viximo
5. Viximo will review and submit to iTunes App Store
6. If you have questions, please search and post in our VixML forum. Your fellow Creators may be able to help you out and VixML experts at Viximo will actively responding to queries.
